Do you ever wonder about the interesting paths of life and how you ended up where you are- either happy with where you are headed or annoyed at the choices you have made?
Most of you know some of my life story.
I have been accused of being far older than I really am.
I started out in high school working in a small band as a “sound engineer.” Little did I know this would take me on a 16-year journey, working small and big venues, with a variety of local bands.
Music is a brutal business. If you are lucky enough to get in a band that can write and produce music, you have a chance at “making it to the big time.”
This, however, was not to be my ultimate path in life.
Between working with bands and recording studios, working on unlimited hydroplanes, managing a scuba diving shop and spending 8 years in the car audio business, I was a busy young man.
Because I failed at going to college the first time, I figured it might be time to get out of the music business and go back to college and get a degree.
Everyone has points in their lives where they decide to go right or left on the hiking trail of life.
I was prompted by one of my high school friends, who basically said, “look at me, I have a degree. Why are you still working in this car stereo shop?” He inferred that I was working in a dead-end job, and this made me angry.
This conversation made me look at my path and decide to go back to college and finish what I started in 1975.
I worked hard, completed my 4-year degree in finance in 3 years, and moved to working at a “real” job.
While working my first ‘real job’ at Puget Power, I was told in 1990 that our department would be shut down in 1994 or 1995. Because both my brother and sister were real estate agents, I looked around and decided to explore the real estate business, and I never looked back!
Twenty-nine years later in the business, I still love helping people make one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
I have spent the last 46 years going to hundreds of concerts and hiking with my lovely wife Julie, and then, with my two sons when they came along.
I continue to enjoy the path I am on, sharing it with my family, friends, and clients.
Everyone’s needs are a little bit different, and we all want someone to understand us- especially during a time that is stressful and confusing, which for most is buying a house. That is why I take the time to listen carefully to my clients and identify what specifically they’re looking for, so that I can help them find the best fit for them in the shortest amount of time. I know how scary it can be when your life changes along with your family’s needs, and that is why I minimize stress during the process by handling all unexpected complications. I have been a juggler (always have been), doing a lot of different things at once- keeping the balls in the air- and that is where I thrive. This means I am on top of things as your broker, and I can handle those bumps in the road… I even look forward to them! With my decades of experience as a broker, lender, and my background in finance, I know what to expect and how to handle the things that come up. I want to see you succeed- not just now, but always- which is why I stick around after the sale is over as your lifelong broker.
